Girls Who Shred

Saturday 14th September, 10:00AM - 3:00PM

TÅ«roa Parks

Come join us for a special day dedicated to the ladies! This event is perfect for park beginners as it offers a full day of absolutely free park coaching for both skiing and snowboarding. It's an opportunity not to be missed! All participants should feel comfortable riding at least The Giant chairlift and navigating Clarry's Track. No prior park experience is required! Skilled instructors will be on hand to teach jumps, rails, and boxes, catering to your interests. This event is a fantastic chance to connect with other women who share your passion, and progress together. The day will start at the Alpine Café for introductions, followed by safely storing bags and lunches before heading to the park. An afternoon lunch break will provide time to rest and recharge before the second session, followed by a relaxing drink and discussion at Freddie's to wrap up the day. Prizes may be awarded to those who show enthusiasm and effort! Forge lasting friendships at Tūroa this winter while mastering park skills you'll hold on to for life!

1:00PM - 3:00PM afternoon session

3:00PM debrief and prize giving, end of day drink at Freddie's, 20% off for all participants

As we get closer to the event date, we will select the park area based on snow conditions

While there is no strict age limit participants are required to be able to comfortably ride the Giant chair

Any participant's under the age of 18 with require a parent/guardian safety sign off at the beginning of the day

The line up includes the talented DJs Taiga, Kenzo, Big Ben, Dashfield, and Zeldraf, who are all set to bring their mesmerizing beats to the stage in preparation for their much-anticipated performance at the Keg on Saturday evening. Immerse yourself in the infectious energy that these artists bring to the stage. Get ready to be swept away by the pulsating rhythms and dance the day away in an atmosphere charged with excitement and joy. Experience the breath taking scenery from the mountain's highest café, with stunning snow-covered slopes perfect for skiing and snowboarding. Enjoy the music on your way up the chairlift and then head in to treat yourself to a delicious hot dog and a refreshing drink on the Giant Sun deck.

Retro Day

Saturday 28th September - ALL DAY EVENT

TÅ«roa Base Area, The Kitchen Ohakune

Celebrate spring skiing and snowboarding by dusting off your dad's vintage one-piece suit or attempting to squeeze into those old neon pants. The Retro Police will spend the day patrolling TÅ«roa Ski Field, issuing fashion fines that might just earn you and your attire some fantastic prizes. Continue the festivities at The Kitchen in Ohakune from 4pm, with games and entertainment for all ages, such as the renowned Chocolate Eclair eating competition, Carrot bag toss and much more!

Peak 2 Powderkeg

Saturday 5th October - ALL DAY EVENT

TÅ«roa Ski Field, The Powderkeg Ohakune

Ohakune is once again hosting the legendary Peak to Powderkeg Triathlon, and this year marks the event's 30th anniversary. Kicking off on the slopes of TÅ«roa, participants in this multisport extravaganza race down the mountain on snow, foot, and bike. The race culminates in possibly the most demanding segment of the competition - chugging a cold beer outside the Powderkeg in Ohakune Junction. This inclusive event is open to competitors of all age groups (those under 18 receive a soft drink at the finish line) and showcases a magnificent display of talent and athleticism in the area. Both competitors and spectators alike can't get enough of the excitement on this special day. Make your way to Ohakune and be part of the thrilling annual event that you won't want to miss!
